Upper Room Dedication and Celebration
On April 26th, BCCUCC celebrated the completion of the
renovation of the "upper room" of the Barre Congregational Church.
Facilitated by the unquenchable "can-do" attitude and efforts of
Shirley Lewis, this new room renovation has been a true
community effort, with many hands and resources contributing
to its successful completion.

The new upper room is home to four sections - the Gathering
Place, the Sharing Place, a Media Room and Library and a
refurbished kitchen. We hope and anticipate that this new space
becomes a place of inspiration, connection, learning and
enlightenment in our community.

A Successful Community Day on September 12th!
We did it! On Saturday, Sept. 12th, under sunny skies, we held our first annual Community Day at Felton Field in Barre, MA. This great fundraising event was an all-in community-centric event for the whole family, with live music, games, raffles, chicken BBQ, "poker run" motorcycle rides - pretty much something for everyone. Nearly 500 people came for the event, young and old alike, and as one of our younger parishioners said, "It was awesome!"

This event couldn't have happened if not for the hard work and dedication of many of our church members (we won't call you out by name, but rest assured we know how much you have done - thank you). And to all of the individuals and businesses who gave so generously of their time, talents and goods and services, our most sincere appreciation. We hope that this inaugural event sets the stage for more to come, in which we all join together to support our community.

Thank you, everyone!

34th Rutland Crop Hunger Walk
In October, our Sunday School children raised $501.31 and our church raised a total of $906.31 for the Rutland Crop Walk to end world hunger. At the time of this writing, the Rutland Crop Walk had raised over $14,500 in this year's walk. Barre Congregational was also presented the annual golden shoe award by Lynn Amsden an award given to a person or group dedicated to helping stop hunger around the world. Twenty-five percent of what we raised in our church will be donated to the Barre Food Pantry. Thank you to everyone who supported our dedicated walkers in this important cause!
